Looking Back
this August rainbow,
remarkable as we were,
different colours,
red blue green yellow saw us,
clad in family,
first get together this way,
generations mixed,
sisters brothers cousins kids,
kids enjoyed the pool,
adults talked and talked on end,
sometimes a rainbow,
arcs to group a family,
both past and present,
yellow for my mom deceased.

Gillena, this really hits me. The turn into “sometimes a rainbow” feels easy and true, and “yellow for my mom deceased” just quietly lands for me...
