Then One Day - a quadrille
Pressed petals distort the glamour
of courting years,
When words were fresh and unfurled with such ease,
The ghosting of love poems,
Matched his vanishing.
She wasted years, wasting away;
Until one sunny day,
Shielding her eyes from the sun,
She ventured out resolute.

A great Quadrille, Gillena. Some people never quite get out of their past trauma to move on with their lives.

This is FABULOUS! You've incorporated all three within the one poem....the poem tells a story that fits with the three. And yes....I'm certain many a young woman has some pressed flowers on a shelf, or in a diary or book, that remind her of a time long ago with a person, special at the time. And then you have her wasting away....but gaining strength in the end. This is truly FABULOUS! You nailed it! Cubism to words.

I felt sorry for your lady. She was taken by advantage and felt the only thing was to wait. Like so many women who are in wait.
