Happy month of November to all visiting.
You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).
Welcome to Monday WRites # 324: A Happy Monday to all. Be Safe.
AND
Asked to use the line "I am bombarded yet I stand" in a prose not longer than 144 words
❧✿❧
smaller and smaller
I am bombarded yet i stand: The curfew hours, State of emergences , lockdowns, constant hand washings, mask wearing, children zoom schooled, deaths, hospital bed spaces filled.
Now i am ready with flattening the curve: the vaccines, the opening of borders, the disposal masks, the designer masks, the nod of the head in greeting, the children returning to school.
Ready to understand and accept the new normal living. In our largeness, this global village; we, have become smaller and smaller

Mmmm - I would love to try the green fig omelet . Sounds like a delicious special breakfast. I like learning about all the different kinds of fruit that grow in the Caribbean. (It would even be better if I could taste them all ;>)

I hope things will be opening up there soon. Things are more opened here, but we're still cautious.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you call the green bananas green figs, and lovely that they grow in your backyard. The dishes all look delicious, Gillena.

Restrictions are much freer here, and I hope yours will be freer soon. I was fascinated with the green bananas! Thanks for sharing, Gillena.
ReplyDeleteIn Hawaii we had fried green bananas and ice cream; quite good in fact. Your poem and mine are poetic cousins it seems; cool
ReplyDeleteThanks for your appreciation Glen. Going to read yours

Yes, the pandemic has bombarded us with so much stress, I am thankful my son is in school again and crossing my fingers it stays that way here. Children need at least that much normal!

Gillena, half the world is pretending this mess is over, the other half sees that many are still dying, and now it has come for the children. Stay safe my friend! 🙂

This is such an intriguing piece. I agree the global community has become more connected, even though I wish it hadn't taken a pandemic to achieve this.

If people could just accept the vaccine when given the opportunity... but it seems we will have to have yet a winter with restrictions.
