GILLENA COX GARDEN PHOTOS 2021

The rains, the rains, oh dear the rains

Language of lushness speaks vociferously

So many appearances so much gains

Caladiums  spread like elephant ears

Season of torrents, oh dear the rains

Green's a colour verdant and unremorseful

Weeds and cultivars jostle without pains

Caterpillars long gone to moth wing nights

And flowers open for butterfly gains

Happy is the garden in season so wet

Soil, drunk on heaven's tears, oh dear the rains

  1. Hey Gilena. Thanks for dropping in. My times in Nepal have introduced me to the monsoons and that is a ton of rain. Have also helped create rice beds which definitely takes a ton of water too. The range of their purpose. I can give life and they can certainly take it.

  2. I so love your plants for I have them inside the house - potted all through winter.

Rains are blessing but not too much. I wish our climate doesn't have the long winter season. I so love this part: Soil, drunk on heaven's tears, oh dear the rains

  5. Dear Gillena, We need some of your rain .. desperately! Fires are raging thru our part of the US right now. So much smoke today, our eyes are stinging.

As always, your poetry is lovely.

  6. We have quite some rain here as well at the moment... just not that warm, tropical kind but rather the cold and ugly german rain - sigh - my tomatoes don't like it that much. I love those tropical plants... nicely penned

  8. Lovely, contemplating the lush garden thriving in the rain.....we could use that rain here in BC where 300 wildfires are burning throughout the province. Lovely to read you, Gillena.

  9. The tropics are so different from what we see up here... but I think we need some rain here too.

  11. Enjoyed reading this Gillena, and the pictures were captivating. Rain is certainly a blessing to the earth, but it can get overblessed… 🙂
