We are in still in our 3rd lockdown  and we are now in A State of Emergency here in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹

You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).

Quadrille Monday:
What’s in a word?
The prompt word today is the homograph 'wound'

❧✿❧
Wound, tight as a bobbin of sewing thread,
She was now that path angels feared to tread

One of those days, when mothers spurned,
Into monsters turned

Cooking, washing, cleaning,
To top it of, the boy gets in a fight
Bringing home his wound.

  5. Gorgeous gorgeous photo! I used to sew....had a sewing machine for many years and made most of my childrens' clothes when they were young....so I can relate to that first statement and use of the word "wound" ... I also realize what a mess there is if the bobbin thread gets stuck in the machine. Enjoyed this post very much.
Gillena: hoping vaccines proliferate and the virus is contained....stay safe, my friend.

  14. Gillena - I am so sorry to hear that T&T is in a state of emergency. We finally seem to be getting a bit normal, so it is distressing to know it is difficult elsewhere. I hope you can stay safe, and that spending some time with your blogging buddies brings you some relief and distraction. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

  15. I hadn’t heard that Trinidad and Tobago were in a state of emergency, Gillena! Please stay safe and well. I like the simile in the opening line and that your quadrille begins and ends with the prompt words, in both of its meanings.
