We are at the second Monday of 2021; a year synonymous with hope.Took down my Christmas wreath this morning. My Christmas tree is still up, lights blinging.

You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).
Welcome to Monday WRites #280: A Happy Monday to all. Be Safe.

Quadrille #119 – Dabbling in Poetry

CLOUD TO SKY
dab those walls of corona blues
applying touches of smiles
hope in tomorrow always shines
like  persistent unpowered noses

lightly apply touches of smiles
wear this accessory like cloud is  to sky
be to those thorns what is a rose
twenty-twenty-one bring it on

  8. I love this line especially, Gillena:
"wear this accessory like cloud is to sky"

I find myself trying hard to make my eyes smile, so others can actually see I'm smiling through my mask.

  14. I liked "be to those thorns what is a rose". Nice Quadrille; rocking t5he prompt. 2021 is creaking a bit as it starts up, but I hear those gears meshing.

  20. It’s so hard to smile these days, Gillena – thank you for your own brand of sunshine to brighten my day. I love the similes ‘like persistent unpowered noses / lightly apply touches of smiles’ and ‘wear this accessory like cloud is to sky’.
