['broken hearted' BY chris bradley; Fair Use]

ARCH OF COLOUR
If i curved a question into arch of colour,
Would yellow be the taste on my tongue?
With sweet aromas of tomorrow, to her
Bosom cling, like spring time daffodils?
If i bridged raindrops into arch of colour,
Would deep overcasts, shoot innocence
Into wretched despair? To sadden mothers:
Gut, joints, blood, bones, dust, and tears;
Into scenarios, macabre enough to holler,
Enough! of horror from gadgets loathsome.
Let love alone; rainbow into arch of colour

  2. You've used words in very original, unexpected ways, to create vivid images and a powerful message.

(I thought the 5th line had to be identical with the first. Never mind, I'm happy with the way my poem turned out by doing that.)

"Into scenarios, macabre enough to holler,
Enough! of horror from gadgets loathsome." Yes, enough,,,

  7. I like the idea of yellow as a taste, Gillena, and the way your poem begins with 'sweet aromas of tomorrow' and daffodils, and then veers into overcasts and wretched despair, a massacre with 'Gut, joints, blood, bones, dust, and tears'.
I think I prefer the arch of colour, too!

  9. I love the opening lines - they are so curious for their power - and the taste of yellow - yes, many associate with hope - but oh, in some moments, I would really like to be someone who has Synesthesia - although, I did slip into a 3 day zone once, and literally became the colour yellow. Really. Sounds odd. But honestly, not crazy.

Anyhow, I really like how you've painted and triumphed with the rainbow - arching over, reaching its fingers beyond - to offer hope, lifting brightness to the despair.
