Monday WRites 135

[images 1 and 5 are mine. 2,3,4, were found by a google search]

PREPARE YE
Strangely a voice taken by the wilderness
Carries through wind in supple willingness
Through tree branches and sand dunes
Air and sky lend ear to message strewn

There is a visitor and he who is coming
With his arrival will we be succumbing
To seducer friend intruder guest or cheat
Do we win him a feast of happy receipt

Preparation observes to itself a season
Rain or months brittle Dry lend reason
Nuances of hope become ready corners
Hearts of dust and grime let to scourers

A boy in a manger to whom knees bend
Offerings of health wealth and praise spend
PREPARE YE © gillena cox 2017

  1. I always enjoy the juxtaposition between the images you choose and the words that you write.
Sorry it's a flying visit from me this week but I still haven't shaken this cold.

'Air and sky lend ear to message strewn'
    and
'Nuances of hope become ready corners'.

  9. Love advent, and I think we should spend more time enjoying it than rushing ahead to that celebration at the end.

  16. This is a very pretty poem with a vibrant message. 'Be prepared' is the byword for the season and beyond. I did like your lines, "seducer friend intruder guest or cheat Do we win him a feast of happy receipt." Sort of mystery in the biggest mystery in the year, every year since. And will be until it is revealed to us.
