SUSTAINABILITY
It’s not just about today, tomorrow counts for sure;
One billion, two billion, how many of us will survive;
Should we continue thus to wage war?
Who will plant the trees in which our forests thrive?
Are we that selfish, not to taste the reward
To the lips of our children, yet to be born, to suckle
Their worth, in dynamic faith of future accord;
Oh but we must, we must learn peace the art of cuddle
Right here where goodness was wrought

  6. Yes, I feel your words. We must make haste! Plant trees before they all are gone.

  7. I wonder if mankind has ever really thought about the future. Everything is just for now while the rest of nature keeps plodding on the old ways that has ensured survival except by interference or disaster. Now we are that disaster. Very moving piece Gillena.

  11. Gillena,

    Respect does of course begin at home; from there education must direct future generations. Our ways have damaged so much, so far..

  15. Lovely, Gillena. The trees that make the forest must replanted and replenished and we humans must learn to love one another under their shade.
